Privacy summary
DRAFT, pending legal review. This page describes in plain words what the app does today. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer and is not yet a final privacy policy.
Who uses Clamber Up
Adults sign in: parents or guardians, tutors, and adult climbers. Children don't need a login or an email address: an adult adds each child as a climber profile and opens practice for him or her.
What is stored
- The adult account: the sign-in email address, the chosen username, an optional name, and whether the account is for a parent, a tutor or an adult climber.
- Each climber profile: the name or nickname the adult types in, and the grade if given.
- The learning record: every problem shown, the answer given, whether it was right, the time taken, the scratchpad strokes, and skill progress. History is kept so progress can be reviewed later.
- How practice went: events such as a hint or worked solution being opened, a session being paused, or the page losing focus during a problem. These help count effort fairly.
- On the device: the browser keeps a copy of the data, so practice keeps working offline and syncs later.
Who can see it
- The account that owns a climber profile.
- A tutor linked to that climber, who can run sessions and set the session length and a note.
- A small number of Clamber Up administrators, to run and support the service.
Service providers
Data is stored with Supabase (database and sign-in) and the site runs on Cloudflare. Payments go through Stripe, which handles card details; Clamber Up does not see or store card numbers.
What Clamber Up doesn't do with climber data
- No advertising and no advertising trackers.
- No selling of personal information.
- No licensing of climber data to anyone, including de-identified scratchpad work.
- No use of climber data to train AI models.
This is how things stand at this time. Any future change to these points would come only with a new notice and new, separate consent from the parent or guardian.
Math only on the scratchpad
Every scratchpad shows a reminder: “Math only here: please don't write your name or other personal info.” Handwriting can't be screened automatically, so please help by keeping names and personal details off the scratchpad.
